Connecting the founder’s aspirations to the future.

In 1934, Mr. Kiichiro Toyoda (founder of Toyota Motor Corporation) ordered to develop chemical parts for the Toyota A-type passenger cars, and his older brother, Fujinobu, began manufacturing tires and rubber seal parts. After the war, his younger brother, Koichi, moved his factory to Obu City, and the history of our company began. With the aspiration of "creating new value and contributing to society," we have laid the foundation for business development by focusing on technological development.

75 Years of History and Sustainability

Tokai Kogyo started manufacturing rubber parts, but in the 1960s, it began molding resins and urethanes by continuing technological development to follow the world’s top runner in the automobile industry of Japan. We have also established overseas production bases to establish ourselves as a global supplier and to contribute to the development of motorization in Japan. We are convinced that the foundation of Tokai Kogyo’s sustainability, which has continued to develop beyond the 75th anniversary of its founding, is that we have continued to develop our corporate activities while gaining the trust of our customers and local communities by practicing the spirit of "Sanpo Yoshi" (good for sellers, good for buyers, and good for the world) of Omi Merchants.

To be a company that continues to grow
Our Vision for Sustainability

In order to continue to move forward with a wider range of stakeholders, while preserving the foundation laid by our predecessors, Tokai Kogyo has begun to develop its corporate activities as "Rokpo Yoshi no Tokai Kogyo" by adding "good for makers," "good for the earth," and "good for the future" to the three directions.

In terms of technological innovation, we are not only improving productivity efficiency and expanding our business, but also improving the work environment of our employees, with the keyword of "science of processing points (analyzing the points that determine quality and value)" so that we do not fall behind in the rapidly changing automotive industry.

[Environmental preservation initiatives] Being environmentally responsive for a sustainable society

We are promoting efforts to measure global warming and reduce scrap, following our core values of "preserving a beautiful global environment, growing the business responsibly, and promoting good corporate citizenship."

Environmental activities

Environmental slogans

"Every individual should care for the environment," "Do it together," and "Earth-friendly manufacturing" are our environmental catchphrases. Every employee carries an environmental policy card, engages in environmental activities, and strives to increase their environmental literacy.

Carbon neutral initiatives

We have initiated projects to become carbon neutral by 2050. By visualizing the CO2 emissions produced by our products both upstream and downstream, in addition to our own, we are putting steps into place to reduce CO2 emissions.

Environmental management system

Our company has an environmental management system that complies with ISO 14001, which was obtained in 2001. We are constantly striving to decrease various environmental impacts at all of our plants through coordinated organizational efforts.

Measures against global warming (CO2 reduction)

We are working on various initiatives to lower CO2 emissions as part of our efforts to combat global warming. By installing energy-efficient machinery, encouraging eco-offices, and enhancing operational effectiveness, we hope to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Scrap prevention

We promote initiatives to reduce scrap centered on the 3R: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Our percentage of recycled plastic and metal composite parts rose dramatically in FY2022, and ever since FY2023, we have achieved and maintained 100% recycling rate.
